Support for clinical ethics initiatives

CESA is committed to promoting initiatives in clinical ethics that contribute to and build the CESA community and welcomes applications for support for such initiatives from CESA members.   • Working Through the Ethical Challenge: From Theory to Practice - 16th National Paediatric Bioethics Conference, at the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne, 3-5 September 2025.

  • Clinical Ethics Roundtable, an annual series of four online sessions that create room for ethics reflection and skill development, co-hosted by the teams at the South Eastern Sydney LHD Clinical Ethics Service and the Sydney Children’s Hospital Network Clinical Ethics Support Service. Roundtable is an informal space to explore practical clinical ethics issues in greater depth and in conversation with clinicians, academics and others. Dates in 2025:

    • 4 Feb: Hosted by the SESLHD team, “Decisions about the treatment of unfunded patients”.

    • 8 April: Hosted by the SCHN team, “Nazism and the Holocaust - reflections for contemporary healthcare”.

    • 5 Aug: Hosted by the SCHN team, “Reconstituting the person in clinical care”.

    • 28 Oct: Hosted by the SESLHD team, details TBC.
